New Blog! 11/16/2010

I got sick of not being able to put pictures in my posts, and just not knowing how to use this blog in general, harhar. So, please visit my lovely new blog over at Blogger!

Tadaa~

TWIST 11/11/2010

First off, today is Veteran's Day! While it's wonderful that we have a holiday from school and lots of great sales going on, please remember to take some time to remember all those who gave their lives to protect our countries. For those of you who are currently in the military or know somebody who is, thank you so much for your incredible sacrifice and bravery!

So, I've got an incredibly insane amount of homework due tomorrow, but I've spent the day on Facebook and on TWISTonline. But let's focus on that second one, because we don't need to know how much of a Facebook-addict I am. I love pretty much every single piece on TWIST! They're all so incredibly elegant and stylish. If you can afford it, they would all make great additions to your collection!

Unfortunately, I'm still not sure how to insert photos into my blog posts, so please bear with me.

Joli
Vintage Starburst Necklace
Rating: 4/5
Price: $110.00

I love love love this necklace! Not to mention that I think this is a pretty incredible price for designer jewelry. The soft colours make it easy to match with and I'm a big fan of the vintage feel. It's delicate yet creates a statement with the adorable flower designs. Copper, plastic, glass, coral and pearls come together to make an exotic blend of materials that work incredibly well together. In general, I love the Joli collection. It's fun, chic and reasonably priced. Great colours and cute, elegant designs go well with practically any outfit! I'm also a big fan of the Joli Multi-Stone Drop Necklace and Flower Bud Necklace!

Pat Flynn
Wide Marquis Diamond Cuff
Rating: 4/5
Price: $3,800.00

Can we say gorgeous? If I had the money... But unfortunately, that's more than my entire meal plan for the year, and I quite enjoy eating. I'm in love with everything about this cuff. Simple, yet incredibly classy. The black with the gold make a striking contrast that work well with elegant, dressy outfits. I just love how delicate the gold looks against the black, and the diamond set in the middle just wraps everything up together perfectly. This would be a great piece to wear to a fancy cocktail party or a wedding. Pat Flynn also has a plethora of wonderful designs to check out! I recommend the Nail Ring with Sleeve and Square Diamond Bracelet.

Anyway, I'm off to focus on my homework now, before I get too carried away with jewelry reviews. Check back soon for more reviews! Also, for those of you who don't have work to do today, Forever 21 and Charlotte Russe are both having amazing Veteran's Day sales!

Until next time!

Oh blog, how I have been neglecting you so! These past few weeks have been a little crazy. I was sick for a while, then busy with essays, tests and all that jazz. Last week, there were a bunch of booths here at school and I got to meet some really cool people who designed clothing, jewelry and accessories. There was also a bunch of cheap clothing, posters and food on sale! It was incredibly hard to not buy everything in sight. I ended up buying some pins and a really neat handmade hairband. (I'll be plugging the girl who made the headband in a later post, so all of you should go check her out! She's incredibly sweet and gives part of her earnings to charity.)

It was also Halloween weekend! Which was kind of a dud, to be honest. I was the incredibly smart girl who left her ID at home, so unfortunately, I couldn't go clubbing with all my other friends. We had wanted to try to sneak me in, but apparently, I look like I'm 15, so... I ended up staying in and studying for my math test instead, because our teacher was really awesome and scheduled it for Monday. I'm not really sure what made him think this was a good idea, but it happened, so that was me on Halloween. This year, I dressed up as a nerd, and apparently, this was the year for nerds. I saw at least 10 other people as nerds, so I was feeling incredibly unoriginal and awkward. What were you all for Halloween? I love hearing about cute, creative costume ideas!

I've also been spending excessive amounts of money at Aaron Brothers, which is why I will soon be applying for a job there! Wish me luck! I had originally created this website as a portfolio to apply for an internship, but I haven't had any time for photo shoots recently, and it'd be nice to have a job in the meantime. It's tough on my wallet to have to buy art supplies every week! And I splurged on a watercolour technique book the other day... Oh dear.

Anywho. I'm thinking of trying my hand at making some jewelry and accessories which I will consider selling online, so that's something for you all to look forward to, as well as some watercolour commissions! I need to make money to pay for supplies, haha. Nothing comes cheap these days! Once I get a little more organized, I'll be posting samples, prices and all that fun stuff, so, grab all your rich friends and prepare yourselves. Also, what size prints would you lovely people be interested in? 6x4s will be the cheapest for me to make, so I'd be able to sell them at probably $1-2 each, then working my way up to 8x10s which would cost around $10.

This weekend, I'll be going to a wedding, so unfortunately, I'll have to wait another week for a photo shoot (Ashley, I hope you're still available!). Hopefully, I'll be able to take some cute pictures of wedding guests with my brand new camera though! It's a Panasonic DMC-G10. Love you all!
